Lovedale Smokehouse Cafe


We are an owner operated, small batch, artisan smokehouse.

Our menu features our famous platters to share and individual dishes showcasing our smokehouse produce.  Enjoy our range of hand-made smoked food including low 'n slow smoked pulled pork and beef short ribs, warm smoked salmon and potato salad, tender lamb shanks and mouth watering smokey chicken or beef burgers.  Our share style charcuterie platters showcase our range of smoked and cured cold cut meats, smoked seafood, terrines, pates, cheeses and hand made chutneys. Our platters are served with ample sourdough and salad.


 Relax in our courtyard featuring vineyard views and splashing fountains or in our air conditioned dining room with a craft beer, cider, Hunter Valley wine or coffee and enjoy the best lunch the Hunter Valley has to offer! 


 We are open Thursday to Monday 10.30am-4pm.

Our produce is made on-site by Owner/Chef Ben Sales who is extremely passionate about smoked food. Ben works closely with our suppliers sourcing premium quality and wherever possible local ingredients and dedicates an extraordinary amount of time carefully curing and smoking our produce in small batches to ensure every product receives the attention it deserves. Every product is packaged by hand and cryovaced to prolong freshness and is ready for purchase so that you don't have to wait for it to be sliced.  Our house made produce is available exclusively from our Hunter Valley store.


Visit Lovedale Smokehouse Gourmet Pantry for cold smoked salmon, smoked rainbow trout, salmon gravlax, smoked trout pate, smoked mussels, smoked albacore tuna, smoked octopus, hot smoked salmon, bresaola, prosciutto, jamon, lonza, over ten varieties of salami, beef jerky, smoked kangaroo, smoked kangaroo pastrami, smoked venison, smoked ham, smoked bacon, smoked speck, smoked chicken, smoked duck, smoked turkey, smoked cheddar, smoked gouda, smoked olives, smoked garlic, smoked tomatoes, duck pate, chicken terrine, venison terrine and veal terrine.


We also have a large range of deli items including local, Australian and International cheeses, caramelised and flavoured balsamic vinegars, smoked sea salts, smoked honey, chutneys, jams, dukkahs, dipping sauces, smokey bbq sauces, bbq rubs, seasonings, liquid smoke, chilli sauces, pickles, crackers, salad dressings, fruit pastes, tappenades, olives, olive oils, dessert sauces, biscuits and our own estate grown Majors Lane Wines at cellar door prices.


For the smoking enthusiast we also stock electric smokers and wood chips. Thermabags and ice are available to keep your purchases cool or you may leave your purchase with us whilst you discover the Hunter Valley and collect at the end of the day.


 Smoking and Curing Masterclasses are held on Sundays 10am-12noon. Private classes for 6+ guests are available at other times. Bookings are essential and payment in advance is required.


 All produce is subject to availability. If there is something you desperately desire please call us to pre-order or check if it is in stock.
