Dashville On Main Street

They sang; ‘You can’t always get what you want’ – But could they be wrong?

Couldn’t get tickets to the Rolling Stones next weekend? Or perhaps you just can’t get enough of that satisfaction?

In any case, fans of the Rolling Stones have the perfect opportunity to  get what they want when one of the Hunters biggest bands, The Dashville Progress Society, perform a special one-off tribute concert on arguably the biggest band in the world, The Rolling Stones.

This special tribute concert known as ‘Dashville On Main Street’, happens on Friday 14th November at Dashville, the beloved bushland venue located at Belford, which also hosts other popular boutique festivals such as The Gum Ball and PigSty In July.

The spectacle of the show is the Dashville Progress Society, a large collective of musicians and singers, from all ends of the earth, though better known locally from bands such as The Dennis Boys, Ngariki, Milestones, Pow Wow, Gleny Rae Virus, The Firemen, Magpie Diaries, Cajun Blues Party and The Re-Mains to name a few.

'When the biggest band in the world comes to town, it's only right to throw a party' explains Magpie Johnston, founding member of the Dashville Progress Society and organiser of the event.

'We're looking to keep this one pretty simple - BYO, camping, a mass gathering of friends, celebrating the music we love'.

Titled, 'Dashville On Main Street', after the iconic 1972 album Exile on Main Street, the night is a light hearted tribute to the band that every muso wishes they were in. And with so many great musicians curating the set list, those planning on heading to Dashville should expect nothing but lots of the best Rolling Stones songs across their 50 year history.

And not to forget the exhibitionist in all of us, the official ‘Jagger Off’ gives the audience will a chance win prizes by doing their best impersonation of the voluptuously lipped lead singer in front of a live band.

Further Details:

  • Gates open at 5pm
  • BBQ dinner from 6pm
  • Live music kicks off 7pm
  • Camping available at the venue.
