A gold win for Somewhere Unique

An eco-certified accommodation business located in historic Wollombi in the NSW Hunter Valley was recognised at the recent 2013 Hunter & Central Coast Tourism Awards, announced Melanie Morschel, owner of Somewhere Unique. The business was the GOLD Winner of the ‘Unique Accommodation’ category, and was entered into the Hall of Fame having won this award for three consecutive years. “We’d like to thank all our guests for their support, and providing the wonderful feedback which has helped us create this unique experience.”

Properties are judged by a detailed written submission and site visit. The Tourism Awards encourage and celebrate innovation and professionalism throughout the tourism businesses in the Hunter & Central Coast regions, and provide a benchmark for best practice within the tourism industry.  “This business (Somewhere Unique) can be thought of as the benchmark for its category - not only for its operational success but also for the manner in which it is able to communicate the quality of the services and facilities on offer,” noted the submission judging panel.

Somewhere Unique offers two contemporary architect-designed retreats, strategically placed to ensure privacy for each couple, and are proud to have achieved Ecotourism Accreditation. Each retreat enjoys a northerly aspect with valley views, and features king- size bed, two-person soaker bath, reverse cycle air-conditioning, stereo system, gas log fireplace, wi-fi, Foxtel, modern kitchen, and private deck; in conjunction with plenty of environmental initiatives.

“So very pleased and over the moon EXCITED to say you set the scene and provided the most spectacular place for our engagement! We came for a relaxing weekend and left with an amazing memory, a stunning diamond ring and Happily Engaged!”, said Amanda and Chris, recent guests at Somewhere Unique. “Thank you. We will be sure to highly recommend to friends and family and can’t wait to return. Somewhere Unique is an absolute credit to you and Hunter Valley Tourism, and incomparable to anywhere else we’ve been.”

The Hunter Valley is located only two hours from Sydney, and offers a range of activities including: wine tasting, horse riding, hot air ballooning, art galleries, and sampling regional produce.
