HUNTER VALLEY GOURMET MARKET @ FIRST CREEK WINES
The Hunter is about to experience a different style of 5-star event with the launch of Hunter Valley Gourmet Market – an authentic food and lifestyle market dedicated to giving locals direct and regular access to premium produce. The Hunter Valley Gourmet Market will focus on showcasing only the finest food and artisans alongside First Creek one of the Hunter’s most awarded wineries. The market will be held on the third Saturday of every month, kicking off on the 23rd March.
With limited options for locals to frequently purchase quality produce and products, market founder Joanne Bradley saw the opportunity to create a first-class market right in the heart of the Hunter:
“I know a lot of people are time poor and cannot always get to the great farmers markets in the broader Hunter Region. Having lived in the Hunter for several years now, I thought it would be amazing to create a market where locals can not only grab some good quality produce but also bring their friends along, where they can sit and debate about what we eat and where it comes from; a place where food and drink is talked about almost as enthusiastically as it is consumed.
Partnering with award winning winery First Creek was intentional not just for their central location, but also to allow visitors to indulge in some of the Hunter’s finest wines as a part of their experience. With exceptional food, drinks and live entertainment on offer, the Hunter Valley Gourmet Market aims to be a sought-after destination event for the region and of course, one the whole family can enjoy.
Talking about participating in the markets Manager Director of First Creek Wines Greg Silkman said
‘At First Creek we are always looking at new ways to really create interest in the region and we are really excited to be part of such a great initiative that can help do that. The Hunter region has such wonderful producers and artisans and we are so pleased that we get the opportunity to showcase not only our wines but the amazing produce the region has to offer.’
Entry is free and a combination of new and regular stallholders will feature each month that will cover a broad spectrum of outstanding produce from the essential to the indulgent. The market will look to introduce interactive elements over time including demonstration and classes to keep the event fresh and lively. Regular updates will be available via the social media pages so consumers can keep up to date on all that’s happening at each market.
The Hunter Valley Gourmet Market is a new and exciting initiative that looks forward to bringing the local community and visitors together to experience a first-class market right in the heart of the Hunter.
