·       Regional leaders in emerging varieties: We were the first to plant Barbera, have planted Tempranillo, Graciano and in 2015 we planted Albarino.

·       Outstanding Wine list: Margan is known as a ‘wine friendly’ restaurant with the most awarded wine list in the region (substantiated via reviews/awards SMH Best Regional Wine List) as well as offering Margan wines at near cellar door prices. ·       Tour & Teaching Experiences: Margan have several ‘Hero’ food tourism experiences that provide the opportunity to enjoy, experience and learn by joining our cooking school classes, garden, vineyard and winery tours and a range of sensory experiences to touch, taste, smell, see and listen to.


·       The one acre Kitchen Garden: Margan pioneered the Kitchen Garden in the Hunter Valley and can boast 90% of fruit and vegetables are sourced from the organically managed garden plus free range eggs, honey, lambs, olives, free range chickens and more. No other Restaurant in the area (and few from elsewhere) can claim this.

Visitors to Margan Restaurant in the tranquil, rural setting of Broke in the Hunter Valley are treated to the complete food and wine experience. The tasting room offers latest release and museum Margan wines for sampling and sales, served by friendly and knowledgeable staff.  Restaurateur and chef Lisa Margan and her experienced restaurant team create seasonally inspired food, sourced from local mostly organic producers as well as what is grown with love from the extensive one-acre Margan Kitchen Garden.

A lovely 20 minute country drive to the other end of Broke Road from Pokolbin, to the tranquil side of the Hunter Valley.  At the end of Broke Road, turn right, then immediately left across the low level bridge, then Margan is first on the left.
