Glandore Estate

Cellar Door Pokolbin/Rothbury

Hours: Open 7 days

In 1865 a family of Irish immigrants moved to the Hunter Valley and established Glandore Estate, named after the town they had come from in Ireland.   In the late 1950’s the property became, the now famous, “Brokenback Estate” planted by Rothbury then in 2004 Glandore Estate was returned to its original name. Duane Roy, Glandore Estate’s winemaker and 3 other partners have started on the long journey of re-establishing the property to its once famous wine producing days.   Glandore Estate has one of the oldest Chardonnay vineyards in Australia and has now produce great wines from the past 3 vintages. Semillon, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Merlot, Moscato the increasingly popular Tempranillo and Alborino are all hand made on the historic site with quality rather then quantity the main focus.   The wines are now available in most of Sydney’s top restaurants, cellar door and onboard the P&O cruise ships.
