July School Holiday activities in the Hunter Valley

For our friends and followers who are still able to travel, especially those in our own backyard, we are pleased to still be able to bring you a number of COVID safe events and activities that are going ahead for the July school holidays in compliance with current restrictions. We've got something fun for all ages and plenty of outdoor activities to keep you safe and sane these school holidays!

All events are operating under COVID safe practices and we thank you, our valuable wider community, for your understanding and patience as we navigate these times and changes together.

We are thinking of everyone who has been affected by these restrictions and if you can't travel during these holidays, we hope to see you all again soon when it is safe to travel again.

Who says it doesn't snow in the Valley? Hunter Valley Gardens have turned their spectacular garden display into a Winter Wonderland for children of all ages, plus there's activities for the big kids too! Snow Time in the Garden runs from 19 June to the 18 July 2021 so there's plenty of time to book your tickets and plan your next visit.

Our favourite winter activities are back. Slow down and enjoy the moment by building a snowman or making snow angels in the giant man-made snow play area. Take a walk-through the giant man-made snow cave filled with animatronic arctic creatures large and small. Get the heart racing and grab a tube to slide down the 45-metre-long ice toboggan. Don't miss out on gliding around the massive ice rink, whether it's your first time or your 10th this is sure to be a fun activity for the whole family to enjoy.

There's always so much to see and do at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, with activities aplenty for the whole family to enjoy. As one of the most family-friendly resorts in the Hunter Valley, their year-round kids club has an activities schedule that will keep the kids busy for hours, even days!

Some of the fan favourites include the Kids Pizza Making Classes which are on from Saturday 26th June through to Saturday 10th July 2021; sit back and relax at the Crowne Cinema which is running from Saturday 26th June through to Saturday 11th July 2021; or grab the active wear and participate in the Kids Club: Crowne Olympics which is being held on dates throughout the school holidays, Monday 28th June and Thursday 1st July 2021 from 11am-2pm. View their full school holiday program here.

Keep the kids busy during the Winter school holidays with the Mini Growers pop-up program at Margan Wines & Restaurant. Parents can relax and enjoy the Margan Hunter Hand Picked wine and food experience whilst the kids are learning and having fun.

The Mini Growers experience begins with a supervised garden tour for kids only where they learn how to grow vegetables, feed chickens, compost at home and unearth garden secrets in a scavenger hunt. Mini growers also get to plant a succulent to take home and watch grow. After the garden experience, the Minis join you for their lunch of a snack platter, baked treat and drink.

While the Hunter Valley has many kid-friendly Cellar Doors, Tulloch Wines takes child-friendly to the next level. Not only do they have a Junior Tasting Experience for the little ones but they also have a Kombucha Tasting Experience for the teenagers, or the adults.

If this wasn't enough incentive, they also have colouring-in books, timber board games and outdoor lawn games such as giant jenga, connect 4, croquet and hoopla. There's plenty to keep the whole family entertained!

Surprise the kids with a helicopter ride and view the stunning Hunter Valley from the sky. Hunter Valley Helicopters offer family friendly helicopter rides that give you a taste of the Hunter Valley and an exciting adventure for the children.
