EVENT CHEAT SHEET

 We’ve created a handy guide to help you spread the word on your upcoming event:

• Prepare a media release. Tourism Australia has a great resource on how to write a media release. 

• Distribute your media release to local media and the HVWTA. Make sure you include high res imagery. The HVWTA will add to their media section of website.
  

• Add the event to your website and make it accessible from your homepage.

• Create a Facebook Event. Make sure that you send a co-host request to Hunter Valley Wine Country Facebook page so that your events appear on our Facebook page. • Add your event to winecountry.com.au via members portal.
  All members of the HVWTA have access to adding event listings to our website. Our regional website has attracted over 350,000 visits (YTD) with the events section in the Top 3 landing pages on our website. If you are unsure of your login details, contact Katie Lee at HVWTA on This email address is being protected from spambots. • Add your event to visitnsw.com via Get Connected. The service is FREE for NSW businesses. Destination NSW’s consumer sites attract more than 24 million visits per year.

• Contact the Hunter Valley Visitor Information Centre and add a FREE event listing.

• Are you a member of your local chamber of commerce? Reach out for promotion on their website and subsequent social channels:

  Visit Wollombi

• Do you have a ticketed event? StickyTickets and EventBrite are great low cost ticketing sites that can be added to your Facebook event and website.

  Eventbrite integrates with Facebook with an end to end checkout. This allows users to purchase tickets within the Facebook app and activates a 'Get Tickets' button on your event, increasing pre-sale revenue.

• Share your event on local Facebook Groups:
  Pokolbin & Surrounds
  Broke Notice Board
  Wollombi

• Promote your event to your email database.

• Add your event to Newcastle Live (it's FREE and one of the top event listing websites in the region): https://newcastlelive.com.au/. NOTE: You need to setup a Facebook Event first to submit details on their website, They request the Facebook Event URL.
