Margan Wines Barrel Hall Sale

The June Long Weekend is around the corner and as per usual for the last 20 years we hold our Annual Barrel Hall Sale. It’s the time of year where we do a full stocktake of wines in our warehouse, pulling out boxes and bottles we haven’t touched in a while, and assessing wines that have been quietly maturing in our controlled temperature storage across the last year.
There will be a mix of museum releases, some standout vintages and varieties, and quaffing choices. Wines to cellar, wines to drink now, wines for special occasions and wines to enjoy …just because.

This year’s release includes a mix of current and back vintage wines pulled from across the cellar, including older White Label’s, Ceres Hill Barbera and a handful of Saxonvale and Timbervines wines that haven’t been seen for a while.

A handful have done well on the show circuit, others are acclaimed by wine reviewers, and some are simply good, honest bottles of wine that find their place at the table.

As always quantities are tight and for some wines there are only a few dozen and when they are gone, they’re gone.

Andrew will be there across the weekend pouring wines for you to try, pulling bottles from the racks, and happy to give drinking and cellaring advice.

If you’re visiting, settle in for a tasting, pick up a few bottles or cases and spend the afternoon here on the estate. The Restaurant is open all weekend, with the new winter menu coming through from the kitchen garden. Or for something more casual, enjoy a relaxed afternoon in the cellar door or courtyard enjoying a selection of artisanal cheese or charcuterie.
