2021 RISING STAR OF THE YEAR NOMINATION FORM
Nominations are now invited for the 2021 Rising Star of the Year Award.
Nominations are invited from any Partner of the HVWTA with specific skills in one or more areas such as winemaking, viticulture, hospitality, cellar door, database wine club management and marketing expertise. Once the selection panel has confirmed that the criteria for the Rising Star of the Year Award has been met the finalists will proceed to a secret ballot. Each criterion has been weighted with a total score out of 100.
Rising Star of the Year selection panel may be comprised of:
- Chair of the Hunter Valley Legends Awards Working Group (or Chair of the Wine Marketing Forum)
- Chair of the Marketing & Events Stream (or other HVWTA committee member)
- 2019 Rising Star of the Year.
- Representative of the Hunter Valley wine and tourism industries.
- HVWTA Strategic Partner.
- Media Representative.
- One Living Legend (appropriate to this field).
NB : The selection panel is to be convened by the HVWTA and there is to be no more than one representative per company per selection panel.
Criteria
This award recognises an aspiring star of the Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Industries. This person may be involved in hospitality, winemaking, vineyard management, marketing or sales. This award is for achievements over the period March 2019 to February 2021.
- An outstanding contribution over the preceding twelve months, showing results and achievements.
- Above average representation or achievement of results for the nominee’s employer.
- Representation of the Hunter Valley Wine Industry generally, resulting in raising the profile of the Hunter Valley through cellar door sales, and/or management of your wine club, management of your accommodation or restaurant and marketing/PR expertise.
- The nominee could be a young person, or someone whose Hunter Valley star is in the ascendancy.
- In the case of less than 4 nominations being received for this category in any one year, the HVWTA can elect to nominate for this award any individual or group who they can demonstrate fulfills all the above criteria.
Nominations must be received by Friday, 19th February 2021.
