At last, a holiday period with no Covid limitations is on the calendar, and the Hunter Valley is ready to dial it up! There is something for everyone this Easter weekend and school holidays, from action-packed, family friendly experiences to relaxing, afternoon lawn games to keep the kids occupied whilst you unwind.

From 2 April until 1 May, 2022 Hunter Valley Gardens will come alive with pre-historic fun when Mega Creatures take over! From 9am to 4pm come and see all your favourite dinosaurs, giant creepy crawlies, dragons and more than 20 NEW creatures! Plus, get ready to experience this fantastic world with a new twist, Mega Creatures Night Safari! From 6pm to 10:30pm, running alongside the day event discover all the creatures light up into the night.

Tatler Wine's are hosting their annual Easter Event on the lawn at the estate on Easter Sunday April 17, 2022. After the success of the event last year, they are very eager to welcome both new and familiar faces back to the annual celebration. The event will take place over three sittings this year including:

  • 10am - 12pm
  • 12:30pm​ - 2:30pm
  • 3pm - 5pm 

The team at KindiFarm Mobile Animal Farm will be bringing baby animals for the children to pet and SugarPop Parties have been invited to bring their face painting angels to create mini masterpieces on the faces of the children. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt so bring your hunting buckets! We will also have exclusive Easter Specials on Wine so everyone is covered!

Food and drinks will be available to purchase on the day.

​While the Hunter Valley has several kid-friendly Cellar Doors, Tulloch Wines takes child-friendly to the next level. Not only do they have a Junior Tasting Experience for the little ones but they also have a Kombucha Tasting Experience for the teenagers, or the adults. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult. 

​If this wasn't enough incentive, they also have colouring-in books, timber board games and outdoor lawn games such as giant jenga, connect 4, croquet and hoopla. There's plenty to keep the whole family entertained!

The Farm will also be hosting an 'EGG-STRAVAGANZA' across the Easter Holiday period. Take a walk around The Farm at your own pace! Collect a farm map and bucket of food for the animals at the starting point ( next to the Pony Barn) and make your way around to feed the animals whilst solving mysteries to collect your Easter reward!

​If you're looking to get out and about and explore Hunter Valley Wine Country from a unique perspective, we have a number of cycling options. Hire a bike from Sutton Estate Electric Bike Hire and take a self-guided tour or book a wine tour with Sutton Estate. Bring your own bike or hire a bike and try out the Around Hermitage Cycleway, there's plenty to see and do along the way.

​Burn off the calories with the family on a scenic bushwalk in one of the National or State parks in the Valley. Yengo Park is just over an hour drive from Pokolbin where you will find several walks that can be done at all fitness levels. Experience native scenery and Indigenous culture on the steady one kilometre Finchley Track and gain an understanding and respect for on of the oldest Aboriginal sites in the country featuring ancient stone engravings and insightful signs. Or, take a scenic drive down the Tourist Drive 33 along the Convict Trail, built by convicts in the early 1800's as an overland route from Sydney to Newcastle.
