Easter Bucket List School Holiday Activities

​It's no secret that when school holidays come around it doesn't take long to run out of things to do to keep the children busy. The Hunter Valley can be just as enjoyable for the children and teenagers as it is the adults. Whether you're looking to keep the children busy with adventure, action, excitement or relaxation, we've got you covered.

There's so much to see and do in Hunter Valley Wine Country for all ages, but why not tick these off your bucket list first!

From 27th March to 25th April 2021 Hunter Valley Gardens will come alive with pre-historic fun when Mega Creatures take over! From 9am to 4:30pm come and see all your favourite dinosaurs, giant creepy crawlies, dragons and more than 20 NEW creatures! Plus, get ready to experience this fantastic world with a new twist, Mega Creatures Night Safari! From 6pm to 10:30pm, running alongside the day event discover all the creatures light up into the night

Keep the kids busy this school holidays with our Mini Growers pop-up program!

Consisting of a garden tour with our team kids will learn about how to grow their own vegetables, feed the chickens and how to compost at home while touring our one-acre kitchen garden. Our mini growers will also get to plant their own succulents to take home and watch them grow. After the garden tour, the minis will join you for their lunch of a snack platter, sweet treat and drink.

While the minis are occupied adults get to enjoy our Hunter Heroes Food and Wine Experience in the courtyard. Collaborating with local producers including Binnorie Dairy, Hunter Belle Cheese and Hungerford Meat Co. embark on a decadent culinary adventure. We've perfectly paired six Margan limited release wines with a selection of cheeses and charcuterie for you to enjoy.

​While the Hunter Valley has several kid-friendly Cellar Doors, Tulloch Wines takes child-friendly to the next level. Not only do they have a Junior Tasting Experience for the little ones but they also have a Kombucha Tasting Experience for the teenagers, or the adults. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult. 

​If this wasn't enough incentive, they also have colouring-in books, timber board games and outdoor lawn games such as giant jenga, connect 4, croquet and hoopla. There's plenty to keep the whole family entertained!

​For an activity that guarantees fun and laughter, you'll want to add Hunter Valley Aqua Golf & Putt Putt to your itinerary. No matter the age or skill level, Aqua Golf is fun for the whole family, especially when there's prizes to be won! You can always finish up with a round of 18-hole Putt Putt, you never know you might win a free round while playing Aqua Golf!

Introduce your kids at Chateau Elan to the world of golf or further their current skills with Golf Professional Richard Mercer! All levels of golfers' welcome.

​There's always so much to see and do at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, for the whole family. As one of the most family-friendly resorts, their year-round kids club has an activities schedule that will keep the kids busy for hours, even days! Now open to guests of the hotel, the new Water Splash Park is open with an assortment of slides, flutes, showers, water cannons and jets designed to entertain the whole family. 

Get up close and personal with wildlife at the Hunter Valley Zoo. Daily shows and animal encounters await  - meet your favourite little friends with one of their amazing animal encounters.

​The Adventure Centre Hunter Valley is your one-stop spot located at Hunter Valley Resort where you'll find something to keep everyone happy. Relax on a trail ride or horse and cart ride, go on an electric bike or Segway adventure, put your culinary skills to the test with a candy making or pizza making class or embrace your inner winemaker with some grape stomping and barrel rolling.

​Explore the Hunter Valley back country on your very own off-road Segway. Unique to the Hunter Valley, this fantastic family guided tour is made up of adventure, scenery, wildlife and wine country tutorial. Suitable for all ages from 11 and most fitness levels, this will be a fun and memorable experience guaranteed!

​Go Karts Go Hunter Valley have combined excitement, action and skill all in place for the whole family to enjoy. For excitement and action put on a helmet and strap yourself in to one of their 4-stroke outdoor go karts. Calm things down with a round of 18-hole Putt Putt or test out your hand-eye coordination at their on-site archery range.

​If you're looking to get out and about and explore Hunter Valley Wine Country from a unique perspective, we have a number of cycling options. Hire a bike from Sutton Estate Electric Bike Hire and take a self-guided tour or book a wine tour with Sutton Estate. Bring your own bike or hire a bike and try out the Around Hermitage Cycleway, there's plenty to see and do along the way.
