DenMar Estate is a 25 acre property located in the popular Hermitage Road area of Pokolbin in the picturesque Hunter Valley. The property has 10 acres of vineyard comprising 3 acres of Chardonnay, 3 acres of Pinot Noir, 2 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and 2 acres of Semillon.
The property is located on what is known as the 'Belford Dome' which has heavy clay and limestone soil similar to the Terra Rosa. The vineyard slopes downwards from east to west with the Pinot Noir planted at the top similar to how it would be planted in Burgundy.
Apart from the Semillon, all the vines were planted in the early 1990's, the Semillon was planted in 2006 when the new owners Dennis and Marie Eldridge first purchased the property.
All DenMar Estate wine is made only from grapes grown on their Hermitage Road property making it truly 'single vineyard wine'.
When the property was purchased in 2006 there was only the vineyard and Red Door barn. the rest was an empty paddock, since then Dennis and Marie have built a residence and two luxury 2-bedroom cottages which opened in 2008 and the Cellar Door which opened Easter 2010.
Wine curently available for tasting and sales are the 2007 Reserve Range of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon and the Cellar Door Range which includes the 2008 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and the 2009 Semillon being the vineyards first commercial vintage.
Cellar Door currently open Friday, Saturday and Sundays.
