Tower Lodge Wins Best Luxury Lodge in Australia at the 2011 World Luxury Hotel Awards

Tower Lodge located in the picturesque Hunter Valley has won the “Best Luxury Lodge in Australia” award at the 2011 World Luxury Hotel Awards held in Zagreb, Croatia recently.

The 2011 award continues Tower Lodge’s success at the World Luxury Hotel Awards where it took out top honours winning the “Global Luxury Lodge” at the 2010 awards. The recent award now places Tower Lodge as the most internationally awarded Luxury Lodge in Australia.

With attendees from 87 countries and 1,000 hotels nominated for the awards, Tower Lodge was one of three Australian properties to receive an award in this year’s competition. Tower Lodge competed against some tough competition in a category with over 200 nominations.

Tower Lodge, part of the gold standard Relais & Chateaux association is Australia’s best shared secret comprising of 12 distinctly different guest rooms including two premier suites. Each of the rooms are uniquely furnished with no room the same and feature a king size bed, deep soaking spa bath, complimented with antique pieces and rich fabrics creating an opulent setting for any guest.

Lodge guests can choose from an array of unique dining options while staying at Tower Lodge – nine (nine course degustation menu with wines matched by Tower Estate), in-room service by Roberts Restaurant or at Roberts Restaurant, or at specially selected outdoor dining areas including the poolside, garden and the Tower spire.

Tower Lodge also offers a high tea every Saturday and Sunday where guests and visitors to the Hunter Valley can indulge in this long standing tradition within the luxurious surroundings of the Lodge. Tower Lodge’s high tea takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 2.00pm to 5.00pm at $42 per person for traditional high tea and $56 for champagne high tea. Tower Lodge’s high tea can only cater for up to 30 guests on each day so bookings are essential.

Tower Lodge is located in close proximity to Tower Estate Winery which has one of the Hunter’s female winemakers Sam Connew, who has already won top gold for her 2010 Tower Estate Semillon at the NSW Small Winemakers Show, a gold medal for her 2009 Tasmanian Pinot Noir at the 2011 Macquarie Group Sydney Royal Wine Show and the 2011 Clear Image Hunter Valley Wine Show.

While staying at the luxurious Lodge guests can opt to indulge in a spa treatment, take a plunge in the pool, enjoy a leisurely walk along the 1.6km walking track or take time out to relax and enjoy the surrounds.

Tower Lodge was nominated by hotel guests and then selected as a winner by travel industry experts and the WLHA selection committee. Other accolades Tower Lodge and nine have won include:
