Hunter Valley Restaurants retain their Chefs Hat

Last night at the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards 2012, two Hunter Valley restaurants confirmed their status in the NSW food scene by retaining their chefs hats for another year.

Hunter Valley Wine Country Restaurants, Muse of Pokolbin & Bistro Molines of Mount View, were awarded 1 Chefs Hat each for their outstanding efforts in the regional food scene. They were among 5 restaurants in the Hunter Valley area awarded a Chefs Hat with another two restaurants in Newcastle & one restaurant in Nelson Bay also receiving hats.

The previously awarded 2 hatted restaurant, Rock Restaurant of Pokolbin was a noticable absentee from the regional winners list this year due to the restaurants closure in May 2011.

More than 40 reviewers dined in Sydney & regional NSW to compile over 400 reviews for the 2012 Good Food Guide that is available in bookshops from today. Anonymous reviewers dined at least once at every restaurant listed to ensure each review was entirely independant.

The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide, first established in 1975, celebrates the best in dining in and around Sydney. Restaurants are assessed according to a stringent rating system, with those meeting these requirements awarded the highest Australian restaurant accolade: one, two or three chef’s hats.

Congratulations to Muse & Bistro Molines for their achievements.
