2011 Bluetongue Brewery Hunter & Central Coast Awards for Excellence in Tourism
WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The Hunter Valley Wine Country region once again reaffirmed its position as one of the Hunter's premier tourist destinations at last night's 2011 Hunter and Central Coast Awards for Excellence in Tourism.
The awards ceremony, held at Newcastle's Ausgrid Stadium, celebrate outstanding achievements and success throughout the year and provide public recognition for tourism businesses that aspire for excellence in all areas of their work. Hunter Valley Wine Country businesses dominated the awards, with 9 out of the total 23 gold awards taken out by the region. A further 3 businesses were honoured with silver and bronze awards.
This stellar result reflects the level of product quality and service of Hunter Valley Wine Country businesses and their commitment to the tourism industry. This places the region in a strong position against our neighbouring tourism destinations. The winners will now go onto become finalists in the State Tourism Awards to be held in Sydney on Thursday 17th November.
“On behalf of the HVWCT Board and our members, I wish to congratulate all winners and finalists. It takes a big effort to complete the application process and this recognition is a testament to your dedication and quality of product. Well done and good luck for the State Awards!” says Dean Gorddard, Executive Manager Hunter Valley Wine Country Tourism. "Thank you must also go to Sheridan and the team involved at Tourism Hunter for a well organised and enjoyable evening."
