Richmond Vale Railway Museum

The Richmond Vale Railway Museum is a volunteer non-profit organization, formed in 1979 with the aim of preserving the Railway and Mining Heritage of J&A Brown and the Hunter Valley.

The R.V.R.M. is located in the old Richmond Main Colliery site, 262 Leggett's Drive, Richmond Vale. 4kms south of Kurri Kurri in the Hunter Valley, N.S.W. The R.V.R.M. runs trains first three Sundays of each month and every Sunday during School Holidays. Gates open at 9.30 am. The first train leaves at 10.00 am and then runs on demand with a break at lunch time.

The modern entry building houses a small railway museum and there is also a mining museum onsite.

ALL FULL SIZE TRAIN RIDES ARE FREE AFTER ADMISSION

Miniature train rides available for a gold coin donation.

Steam is the main form of motive power but can be substituted, (total fire ban days or mechanical defects etc.) without notice with diesels.
