Piggs Peake Winery
Come up to Piggs Peake winery and spend some time with the winemakers Steve Langham, Robert Guadagnini and Moscato specialist Rene’ Pogel.
Be guided through the extensive range of wines by Pierce Potts one of the Hunters most knowledgeable cellar door people.
The Piggs Peake range is quite extensive with a real focus on the Hunter with locally grown Semillon, Marsanne, Verdelho, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Shiraz, Chambourcin and Merlot featuring in the range alongside harder to find varieties such as Gewurztraminer, Zinfandel, Grenache, Tempranillo and Sangiovese.
Then try some of the sweet styles, especially the dessert Shiraz with some chocolate.
Piggs Peake is a small company and the wines are highly sought after, so regulars tend to join the Lucky Swines Club which allows them to “put a hold” on their favourite wines. It also gets them an invite to the annual Release Nights in June where 1500 regulars descend on the winery to try the next batch and secure their orders as they dine on King Prawns, Oysters, Duck Sausages, Whole Pigs on Spits and BBQ Rump Steak.
